I've been reading Sylvia Plath's journal and I will read some of Virginia Woolf too! I'm also reading about loneliness. both personal accounts and research of by psychologists. very interesting... a book with film/video maker interviews which is very inspiring as well.
for VCP I've been reading about AFFECT, which is kind of driving me crazy. just when I think I "get" it I read another sentence or paragraph and get all confused again. it's so complicated.
if any of you have any suggestions for understanding AFFECT or about loneliness, please send them my way!
I dig the blog talk about ephemera and time and happenstance... happy accidents!

ReplyDeleteIt's funny you say you're having a hard time understanding "affect" -- I was just thinking about how I still don't get it. I thought I did my first semester, but the more I read about it the more I'm convinced I'll never understand!
I hope you post what you're working on.
Remember the video you did about that guy who hates his job? Was that real or did you construct that story? Does he really hate his job that much?
