it's beautiful- is it a photo of a window with drawing on condensation? I love it- here today, gone today. Very exciting notion. I look forward to seeing more.
Great. I have been cropping photos of old drawings/studio work. Moving from the moment of making to after the fact and then what? I am thinking a lot about what has been taken away- there is an artist / writer Jalaal Toufic who writes about the Withdrawal of a tradition after a disaster- what happens to culture and history of a community after it has been disrupted by war/genocide/catastrophe? How can it be resurrected? The space for resurrection is there although it may not be apparent now in present. I am thinking of the cropped photos as remnants of a particular moment that can't be accessed/ recognized. Fleeting moments are there waiting in advance of our presence- our encounter with them. Whoah too deep for a Thursday night. Would people mind talking a bit about the form their process papers are taking? I am still not sure what I am doing- a conversation/ interview- a few different retellings of my time at VCFA like Rashomon or Virginia Woolf's Moments of Being... not quite decided.
rashomon is one of my favorites- I am approaching the process paper by starting with end and ending with the start. Marie suggested this and I think Dianne may be doing the same. Today my first mailing is due I am still trying to write it all day will take all day tomorrow my first meeting with my artist teacher Mary Lum I am excited cause I am all over the place as soon as I know what to do I think of something else second guess and end up all over the place I hope something will come out to this meeting that will tighten it up for me like a tiger raaaah! I haven't made it to your show yet but, I plan on seeing it. I was very excited to see the review in seven days. He used the word conceptual I loved it! have been looking at the work of On Kawara and Gabriel Orozco a lot lately telling of time fleeting moments happy accidents. I dont know if this is the best place to connect but I am soooo confused when I get this keyboard in my hand me and my art are old I think soul soul I mean
