Hello everyone,
I miss you all already- just thought I would say hello- I am anxious about not losing touch with Casey and Carrie ( yes, this means you), so I want to keep this blog going- see how we are all doing as the semester progresses. I am already behind- we have studio plans due on the 30th!
I haven't even cracked my residency notebooks- how to get started in the studio etc. not happening as my mother is visiting and both my sons are home for another week.
That's all the blather for now.
Take care,
Sumru

  1. I hear ya Sumru. Its ok to let things sturr in your mind for a bit longer if you need to. It will fall into place like it always does. I feel the baby coming sooner, I am running around trying to get all done before he comes for my first mailing. AHH! I find it strange and exciting to think that very soon my life will change in an instant and will never be the same again. I just read something that might help you???....

The full weight and mystery of your art, rests upon your relationship to your subject matter.

Enjoy the time with your family.

  2. I'm anxious about losing touch with Carrie and Casey too. I don't want this blog to fall by the wayside. This blog has been important for me from the get-go, and I think it's been important for some of you, too. Am I wrong? I hope we keep it going for years to come.

Diana, "the full weight and mystery of your art, rests upon your relationship to your subject matter"...that's really good. Is that a Diana original? It might find its way into my process paper with your permission.

I got a new job at an art supply store! Good riddance, Vicky's Secret!

  3. Yay for the new job!! I was thinking of that country song- "Take this job and shove it!" Congratulations Leah. Yes, this has been an important touch point for me as well. We will keep it going.
Diana, the quotation is great- and a bit scary. Thank you.
