Hello Everyone,
I am in a HUGE funk- trying to write the candidacy review statement. I have the guidelines but that's not helping...I have no idea what my final exhibition will look like- how is it possible that we could know the specifics now? Is this an exercise to gauge how committed we are to our studio work- to see if we have a pulse? Any ideas, advice, hand holding would be greatly appreciated at this point. I hope you are all well. I am so looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you.

I feel ya such mixed messages at times or maybe all the time like hey this review will ultimately determine if we allow you to proceed with the program and also we are jst trying to get some ideas of what youre thinking about you know nothing serious. Which one is it for gods sake just tell me super end of the world serious or just some thoughts I may be kickin around. Probably something in the middle I guess that is how I plan on approaching it giving them something that we can talk about at the review meeting let them know where I am in the process dont know if this helps but I have been in and out up and down and all around the funk this semester

this made laugh thanks Sumru I am still trying to write all this crap probably take all day had my last meeting with my artist teacher yesterday so I am still processing
ReplyDeleteremember, Sumru, you can say you're going to do one thing and end up doing something completely different. i said that my vc project was going to be about formlessness and hegemony. the final paper was about the shining and mike kelley. my faculty advisor didn't seem to mind at all.
