LEAH! Excellent work. I really apriciate the drawings with the sculture. I like to have both views, both dimensions to think about. You have this incredible ability to balance sweetness and horror. The images are approachable but then the details emerge and the uncertainty arises. Is this happy? Is this comfortable to touch? Does it gross me out? I think of all of these things. The little guy in the sink is amazing. The fact that he is in the sink is so important to me because he is like something that was leftover, bones and shards of skin after being eaten and thrown in the sink. I cant help but want to help him and feel bad for him but there is also something grotesque about it. I am so excited you are drawing again and I hope you can keep working on that as well as the sculpture. Your drawings are unique and purely Leah, they only make the sculpture work stronger. Miss you.
Leah, I am working on cutting drawings as well- figures. Reconciling the drawings as objects is difficult. Should they/can they occupy the same space as an uncut drawing? I am so excited to see you mining this area- I am in the doldrums (since February) and not seeing any energy/wind in sight. Schkulkhing through the sludge...
