The snow is dumping here! AHH! But the birds are singing like its spring...so weird.

4th semester start up

Keeping on with the gloves project, my friend Amanda is crocheting me a glove, but she doesn't know how to crochet, so she is just running with it, going at it "blind." So I am crocheting her a response glove, literally blindfolded (which is easier sometimes then it should be, but mostly funny at first, then super frustrating).

I finished a glove for sweet fellow debutante Miss Molly.

And I am thinking about making dress forms and manikins that address the sort of awkward, somewhat disconnected relationship we (maybe just some of us) with our bodies, since or perception of the body ideal is mediated by pop culture, social pressures etc. This dress form is torn paper stitched together with clear thread (sort of scar and hair like) that I then stained with tea (now it has sort of a musky, sweet scent).
