Hey there, I went to the doctors yesterday and it turns out my body is begining labor. My cervix is 70% thinned out and I am not sure how long it will take to start dialating. AHH! But, baby look great and all is in the correct position and ready to go. I have had poopy cramps for the past 48 hours and I am sooooooo sleepy. I am very excited to get this crazy lil man out but feeling pressure to get the work done.
No studio work yet as my new camera should arrive in the next day or two and I am pumping through research and readings and trying to figure out what the hell I am going to write about. My first mailing is sept 2. Pfff.
How is everybody else doing???
Casey, that work looks excellent! I love that you are using your body and breaking it up.....very interesting.
Leah, what is the new job?!
I miss you guys! I am so scared about labor but am feeling more and more ready as the days pass. I just cant wait to get this weight off me!!! My dogs keep following me around and try to sleep on my crotch, HA HA, they are such weirdos!!
Tis the full moon today! I hope it brings you some good intense energy!

Kind of just, umm, "rolling paper" at this point
Hi All!
Figuring out what to do with myself this semester, I started with packing tape casts of my body, that I am using as armatures to pin ripped up pieces of thin paper around. Then I removed these paper shells and stitched the pieces together. I am going to play around with shellacking the paper, give it a slight durability and translucent sheen.
I have a slight idea of where to take them next, installation wise and in terms of incorporating some sort of clothing pieces, we shall see!
(Sumru, the blog lives on, we will not lose touch!)
(Leah! A big fat congratulations on the new job!!!)

Hello everyone,
I miss you all already- just thought I would say hello- I am anxious about not losing touch with Casey and Carrie ( yes, this means you), so I want to keep this blog going- see how we are all doing as the semester progresses. I am already behind- we have studio plans due on the 30th!
I haven't even cracked my residency notebooks- how to get started in the studio etc. not happening as my mother is visiting and both my sons are home for another week.
That's all the blather for now.
Take care,
Sumru

Hello-
Advance warning- I am on a rant- I apologize in advance-
Have you all received your final evaluations from your Faculty Advisors?
I have not. I am completely stymied. Should I contact my advisor? Should I contact the program office/Danielle/Sabrina? Don't want to be a complainer/squealer...What if something has happened to my advisor-an accident/illness... would I be overbearing, inappropriate, and overstepping the boundaries between student and teacher to inquire?
What's the big deal you ask-what is an evaluation contrasted against the great scheme of life? What's your hurry you ask- only 4 days have passed since the program deadline for submitting evaluations- never mind that I sweated and didn't sleep to make my deadline...
Perhaps it's only a big deal if ONE IS HAVING A SHITTY WEEK/SEMESTER AND CHECKING HER EMAIL EVERY 5 MINUTES TO VALIDATE HER EFFORTS BORNE FROM SWEAT, ANXIETY, AND A COMPULSIVE NEED TO BE THE BEST!!!!!!! Otherwise- it is really not such a big deal.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon,
Sumru
